RE-ANNOUNCEMENT FOR MIDWAY TOWN PARK PICNIC SHELTER AND GAZEBO OFFERS Three offers were not received on December 7, 2021, as required by North Carolina General Law 143-132 (a) , which requires a minimum of three competitive bids to be received for formal construction and repair contracts. If less than the three required bids are submitted, as required by NCGS 143-129, the project may be reposted. Therefore, in accordance with NCGS 143-129, sealed proposals for the construction of a picnic shelter and gazebo in the municipal park will now be received until 3:00 p.m. on or before Tuesday, February 1. 2022, at Midway Town Hall, 426. Gumtree Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, when they will be opened publicly and read aloud. Three offers will not be required for this second offer. Any offer received after the specified date and time will not be considered. Bids must be submitted in sealed envelopes with the following words on the envelopes; Submission Proposal: Attention: Tammy Michael, General Manager, Town of Midway, 426 Gumtree Road, Winston-Salem, NC 27107, Contractor’s name, Contractor’s license number. Complete plans and specifications with any addenda, corrections or other revisions for this project can be obtained electronically via Dropbox by contacting the offices of Metropolis Architecture, PLLC, 301 N. Main Street Suite 1204, Winston-Salem, NC 27101 between hours from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Contractors will be responsible for printing and / or shipping the tender documents. A mandatory pre-bid meeting will be held at Town Hall in the Town of Midway for all bidders at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, January 11, 2022. The purpose of this meeting is to allow bidders to present questions, obtain clarification and inspect the project site. All questions should be submitted in writing by emailing Marty Marion at [email protected]. The last day for submitting questions will be Tuesday January 25, 2022 at noon. Questions received after this time and date may not be answered. If the architect judges that the question (s) significantly affect the project’s call for tenders, an addendum will be issued. Telephone calls are strongly discouraged. It is the responsibility of the bidders / contractors to verify that the architect has received all questions by email. Each bid must be accompanied by a certified check issued by a member bank of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) and payable to the City of Midway, or by a bond from the bidder from a licensed surety company in North Carolina. , and in an amount of five percent (5%) of the total price of the offer. A performance and payment bond will be required in the bid as well as all required insurance and contractor’s license certifications. Each contractor submitting a bid for the project, upon request, will be required to produce evidence of their experience in building a project of similar size and nature. Contractors unable to produce this proof may be rejected, even if it is the lowest bid submitted. The Town of Midway reserves the right to increase or decrease the quantities or items indicated in the bid and to award contracts which appear to be in the best interest of the Town of Midway. No offer may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of offers for a period of ninety (90) days. The Town of Midway reserves the right to withhold any tenders submitted. Bidders will be required to comply with all laws, regulations, etc. applicable, as well as to those which are attached to and form an integral part of the offer. The Town of Midway encourages the participation of minority-owned, female-owned and historically underutilized business enterprises.
