Amritsar: Punjab Congress Unity Chairman Navjot Singh Sidhu appears to be in trouble. Amid serious allegations made by elder sister Suman Toor calling him a cruel man, Sidhu has now been exposed following huge electricity bill arrears. Sidhu has not paid the electricity bill for his residence in Amritsar for a long time. In such a situation, the bill amount that Sidhu has to pay for six months has become Rs 4,22,330.
According to media reports, the bill due to Congress Leader Navjot Singh Sidhu was issued on January 19, 2022 and also includes a surcharge and interest on the unpaid amount. It is said that Sidhu has not paid the electricity bill since August 2021. Despite so many arrears, the Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has not yet disconnected the electricity connection of Sidhu.
Let me tell you, this is not the first time that Sidhu has failed to pay his electricity bill on time. In July 2021, he sparked a similar controversy when the PSPCL paid him an unpaid electricity bill of Rs 8,74,784. Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi announced a reduction of Rs 3 per unit on electricity in November 2021, while Sidhu also pledged 300 units of free electricity to domestic customers in the state.
