We are finally ready to enter the heart of the concert season. After remaining closed throughout 2020, the PNC Music Pavilion is set to host two big shows this weekend, kicking off a busy season. But don’t expect everything to be like the last time you attended a show. Live Nation have announced some big changes you should know. All of these changes are in effect for shows at all venues owned by LiveNation. This includes PNC Music Pavilion, the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater, The Fillmore, and The Underground.

  1. Transparent bag policy: I think most people expected this to happen at some point, as NFL stadiums, other sporting venues, and many festivals have been using a clear bag policy for years. This policy mimics that used by the NFL, where customers can bring clear bags up to 12x6x12 inches or small (non-transparent) pouches no larger than 4.5 × 6.5 inches. While most sites use this policy for security, in the wake of the pandemic LiveNation is hoping it will reduce employee contact with guests’ personal items.
  2. Mobile ticket office: There will be no more paper tickets. Some artists have used this policy in recent years, but now all venues will be mobile ticketing. You will need a Ticketmaster or LiveNation ID and it’s easier if you have the app on your phone. Tickets will be available in the app and can also be added to your phone wallet. As barcodes will “spin”, screenshots of tickets will not be allowed. The sites recommend transferring individual tickets to each member of your party in case you go your separate ways. Without the ticket, individuals will not be able to access their seats.
  3. Contactless payment: Cash will no longer be accepted in any of the locations. All payments will be made by credit or debit card. If you don’t have a card, machines will be available to take your money and issue a “gift card” for that amount. Cards will be accepted throughout the site as well as other businesses, so you won’t have to spend the full amount you put into them.
