Bill really doesn’t need to be introduced. Recognized as one of Saveur Magazine’s 50 Best Donut Stores in the United States and THE Best Donut Store in Dayton, according to voters in the Dayton.com Best of Dayton contest. Bill’s is a Dayton institution even though it moved to its current location in Centerville in 1979. Three years ago, the decay of its devil’s cake donut earned it a spot on the ‘Best Donuts’ list. The former “anti-Krispy Kreme” store on Linden Avenue offers a wide variety of homemade donuts just off Interstate 35 and Woodman Drive, and is a well-deserved stop on any road trip in and out of. the city. Originally a Krispy Kreme franchise, it has been family owned since 1988 and offers wholesale products to several members of the community.

Flavors to try: You’re missing out on something if you don’t grab a peanut butter filled donut or apple donut over half a foot in diameter on your cheat day.

Luke Lawrence, an avid Springboro golfer, 19, started Hole N One Donuts at 2739 W. Alex Bell Road in Moraine in October. The 1,000 square foot facility offers a wide variety of donuts in addition to muffins, cookies, turnovers and other baked goods. Limited places of approximately four to five tables will be available inside the store.
