DOMINICAN The Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus (nuns) sued a Yananai Nyasha after she failed to repay their US $ 12,616 borrowed last year.

The nuns are also demanding interest on the amount Nyasha was supposed to pay from December of last year.

The parties had agreed that she would pay US $ 1,000 per month as of December 31, 2020, but Nyasha has not paid a dime to date, raising fears of being duped by the nuns.

The case is now before the High Court awaiting a full hearing.

According to court documents, on November 30, 2020, Nyasha admitted in writing her debt to the nuns.

The total amount she owed them was US $ 12,626,51.

The parties also agreed that interest at the rate of 18% would begin to accrue on the entire amount outstanding.

“In violation of her own IOU, Nyasha has not paid any installments to date. Due to the above violation, all of the debt has become due and payable along with interest at the rate of 18 percent per annum. Further because of its violation, the defendant is required to pay US $ 12,616.51 plus interest and fees on an attorney-client scale, ”the statement from the nuns read.

The case has yet to be heard.
