SSC offers another round of COVID relief funds to students

Seminole State College is providing COVID relief funds to students through an allocation from the Higher Education Emergency Relief Fund (HEERF) III which is provided by the US Department of Education, as authorized by the bailout American.

Funds will be distributed to students based on specific guidelines from the US Department of Education as well as procedures established by the SSC.

Students have been contacted regarding steps to take to receive funding, based on their fall 2021 hour credit enrollment on Friday morning, September 17. To apply for the funds, students must complete a short three-question form available on the College’s website. Brightspace learning platform. Students have the option of applying the funds directly to any outstanding balance they may have.

The amount awarded to students is based on the number of hours they were enrolled on August 30, 2021. Students who receive Pell scholarship funds will receive $ 100 per credit hour in HEERF III funds. Students who do not receive Pell scholarship funds will receive $ 75 per credit hour in HEERF III funds.

“We are preparing to get this money into the hands of our students as quickly as possible. We are very grateful for these funds and hope it will provide some relief to our students during this time, ”said Lana Reynolds, President of the SSC.
