Approval of the second two TIF agreements cannot take place until the Nordonia Hills School Board has been notified, as some of the TIF payments are shared with the school district.
Macedonia Empire LLC plans to redevelop the former 22-acre Bedford anodizing site on Empire Parkway. Peak Nano opened an optical foundry in July on Roll and Hold Parkway, and Ohio State Waterproofing is erecting a building next to the existing one on East Highland Road.
The ordinances state that the improvements to the plots are for the public good and allow the city to use service payments from businesses – instead of paying property taxes – to finance debt issued to pay for land improvement projects. roads.
The city received nearly $ 1.5 million through a cooperative effort between the city, the Summit County Land Bank, the county tax office, and state and federal regulators to redevelop the Bedford Anodizing property.
