Cristiano Ronaldo sent Ole Gunnar Solskjaer a leaving message on social media after the Norwegian was sacked by Manchester United on Sunday morning.
The Portuguese superstar wished his former boss and teammate the best in a farewell message, which will to some extent dispel any notion of a falling out between the two.
While Ronaldo has helped pull the manager, and the club as a whole, out of some dire situations this season, he could ultimately do very little this weekend to prevent United from falling into another dismal defeat.
The red devils were at the end of a 4-1 away from newly promoted Watford, a result which made Solskjaer’s position as club manager completely untenable.
However, despite the team’s horrific recent form, Ronaldo was still very complimentary to the 48-year-old, who had previously helped United reach the 2021 Europa League final.
âMost importantly, Ole is an exceptional human being. I wish him the best in all that his life has in store for him.
He was my striker when I came to Old Trafford and he has been my coach since I came back to Man. United. But above all, Ole is an exceptional human being. I wish her the best in all that her life has in store for her.
Good luck my friend!

The post received strong support from fans online, who highlighted the 36-year-old’s continued efforts and willingness to try and help United, even when the writing was on the wall for Solskjaer.
Anyone could see that you were doing your best on Ole, but unfortunately it just wasn’t working.

You don’t respect Ole, it doesn’t matter if you are his friend if you and the others would have put in more effort instead of walking the field.

The search for Ole’s successor is now underway, with Mauricio Pochettino currently looking like the top favorite to land the coveted job.
But could the PSG manager get the best out of CR7?
